Classified as the best public and recognized university to produce a large number of businessmen. It is located in Berkeley, California. It is the third best university in engineering, the fourth in social sciences and the first one in mathematics, physics, chemistry and life sciences.

 

Academic offer:

Over 35,000 students attend classes in 14 colleges and schools, offering 350 degree programs of degrees, engineers, masters and doctorates in different disciplines. It provides classical and practical education for state residents.

Campus:

It consists of 32 libraries that together form the fourth US academic library. It contains more than 11 million volumes and more than 70,000 serial titles.

Much of the campus is occupied by the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, Lawrence Science Building, the Space Sciences Laboratory, Research Institute of Mathematical Sciences, an ecological reserve, a botanical garden and a recreation centre.

To the southeast is the area of fraternities, and beyond Campus Kerry Clark and a residential area called Clermont is located. In the south student housing and Telegraph Avenue it is included.

Student housing:

Students live in accommodation optimized according their preferences and academic and personal styles. Is offered two years of accommodation for new revenue, and one year for transfer students.

University Accommodation:

It consists of twenty different buildings, from homes for undergraduates and residences for students and families even transfer students and optional accommodation for international students.

Accommodation Cooperative:

UC Berkeley students, students from other universities and colleges in the area have the option of living in one of the twenty cooperatives houses BSC.

Courses from summer sessions:

More than 600 courses are offered each summer to 90 academic departments at UC Berkeley.

Sports:

Teams of Berkeley have won national championships in baseball, men’s basketball, men’s sailing, female sailing, football, men’s golf, men’s gymnastics, men’s lacrosse, men’s rugby, softball, swimming and male and female diving, men’s tennis, men’s athletics and pole men’s water.

Distinguished students:

  • Steve Wozniak: cofounder of Apple Inc.
  • Eric Schmidt: Executive Director of Google Inc.
  • Natalie Coughlin: Winner of several gold medals in swimming at the Olympics

Harold Urey: Nobel Prize winner. He discovered deuterium.
